The Sella Ronda is famous as a ski circuit, but the summer walking version is one of the best short Dolomites loops. Four to five days circling the Sella massif — Boè, Piz Pordoi, Pisciadù — with the Marmolada to the south and the Vajolet towers to the west.

It's perfect for a long weekend: each day is 4–6 hours, the huts are friendly and well-equipped, and you can flex the loop with cable cars when the weather turns.

Highlights

  • Piz Boè summit — the high point of the Sella at 3,152 m
  • Lago di Pisciadù — turquoise tarn under the north wall
  • Vajolet towers from Rifugio Vajolet
  • Marmolada south face from the Sella ridge
  • Sass Pordoi cable car as a weather bail-out
